PGA Professionals from across Australia will converge on the Goulburn Valley this December to do battle in the Greater Shepparton Masters.

Part of the Ladbrokes PGA Pro-Am series the Greater Shepparton Masters, now in its fourth year sees Professionals compete across two of the region’s best courses. This year Mooroopna Golf Club will host the first round on Thursday the 14th of December with Numurkah Golf & Bowls Club hosting the final round the following day.  PGA Professionals such as Ashley Hall who was runner up to Jordan Spieth in a playoff for the 2016 Australian Open will headline the field as they compete for a share of $25,000.

Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor Dinny Adem said ”Council was thrilled to be hosting this event for a fourth successive year. The Greater Shepparton Masters will be the final chance to PGA professionals to move up the Order of Merit in 2017 and secure their exemption category for the 2018 season. “Our players are really looking forward to getting back the Goulburn Valley and it’s a great week to finish our season” said Heath McLeod, PGA Tournament Coordinator for Victoria.

“The Greater Shepparton Masters follows the Commercial Club Pro-Am in Albury on Tuesday and Wednesday so we are expecting a top quality field from across the country to be here” McLeod added.

“Our thanks must also go to the Greater Shepparton City Council and the two host venues Mooroopna Golf Club and Numurkah Golf & Bowls Club for their support of the event. They have all got behind professional golf in the region and this event continues to grow each year.”

There are still a number of opportunities to be involved in either day of the event and any golfing enthusiast interested in getting that inside the ropes experience with some of the country’s best golfing talent is encouraged to contact the golf clubs directly.
